YANG BERHORMAT DAYANG HAJAH ROSMAWATTY BINTI HAJI ABDUL MUMIN asks MENTERI PEMBANGUNAN to state whether there are any plans by the Ministry to make RPN Lugu a New Satellite Town that will connect all existing phases of development with infrastructure facilities undertaken by the local residents of the community in order to build an active, healthy, inclusive and interconnected community?

• Thank you Yang Berhormat Yang Di-Pertua. Thank you to Yang Berhormat Dayang Hajah Rosmawatty regarding the proposal to make Rancangan Perumahan Negara Lugu a New Satellite Town.

• In response to Yang Berhormat's question, the Ministry of Development through the Housing Development Department has taken an approach to plan and provide specific sites to ensure that inclusive residential areas are equipped with public facilities within the National Housing area.

• As an example, at Perumahan Negara Kampong Rimba, various Public Facilities have been provided including:

  1. A mosque located on Jalan 2 which is still under construction;
  2. Rimba 1 Secondary School and Religious School on Jalan 2;
  3. Rimba 2 Secondary School at Simpang 39, Jalan Bukit Mahkota;
  4. Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School on Jalan 2;
  5. Rimba Primary and Religious School on Jalan 82;
  6. Rimba 2 Religious Primary School on Jalan 3;
  7. Rimba 3 Primary and Religious School on Jalan 99;
  8. Commercial Site (Rimba Point) on Jalan 2;
  9. Post Office on Jalan 2;
  10. Fire Station on Jalan 2;
  11. Recreational Park on Jalan 2; and
  12. Stalls on Jalan 2

• Meanwhile, referring to the Master Plan for the Perumahan Negara Kg. Lugu area, a number of land sites have been allocated for the provision of public facilities at the following locations, specifically:

  1. Mosque Site on Jalan Lasuk;
  2. Primary School and Religious School Site on Jalan Lasuk;
  3. Commercial Site on Jalan Lasuk;
  4. Health Centre Site on Jalan Lasuk;
  5. Community Hall Site on Jalan Lasuk;
  6. Fire Station Site on Jalan Lugu;
  7. Police Station Site on Jalan Lugu;
  8. Recreational Park Site at Simpang 8-3-12, Jalan Ambin;
  9. Community Centre Site at Simpang 8-3-12, Jalan Ambin; and
  10. Stall Site at Simpang 8-3-12, Jalan Ambin

• This planning reflects the continuous commitment of the Government of Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam in ensuring the provision of complete public facilities in line with balanced needs in residential areas.

• It should also be clarified that the plans mentioned earlier will, InshaAllah, be implemented in phases in line with the planning and allocations to be provided later.
