YANG BERHORMAT AWANG AMRAN BIN HAJI MAIDIN asks Yang Berhormat Menteri Hal Ehwal Ugama to state whether the Ministry, through the Department of Mosque Affairs, plans to provide a platform that shares information related to the facilities required by mosques. This could facilitate and assist the public who wish to contribute or donate as waqaf, while also expediting the procurement of facilities without depending entirely on government funding.

At present, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Department of Mosque Affairs, is implementing an initiative to collect data and information regarding the facilities available in mosques throughout the country such as funeral management room facilities, funeral management equipment, funeral vehicles, special rooms for Persons with Different Abilities (OKU), OKU parking spaces, OKU toilets and so on.

As a result of the collection of such information and data, the Ministry, through the Department of Mosque Affairs, is planning a suitable platform on the official media of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to help the public know the facilities needed in mosques and subsequently be able to contribute through the waqaf, sadaqah, hibah or any other appropriate instruments in accordance with hukum syara'.

At present, the Tabung Dana Pembinaan Masjid Negara Brunei Darussalam platform has been provided, one of the purposes of which is to cover the costs of mosque construction, renovation, and other mosque needs. This fund has received contributions from civil servants, private companies and anyone who wishes to perform charitable deeds or donate as waqaf.

In the meantime, the Ministry greatly appreciates the efforts that have been carried out by the public, whether through mosque Takmir Committees, organisations/associations or individuals, in jointly striving to improve mosque facilities without depending entirely on Government allocations, with the sole intention of obtaining rewards in the sight of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.
