The Ministry of Development, through the Housing Development Department, always pays serious attention to the quality issues of houses under the National Housing Scheme, including in the Perumahan Negara Kampung Lugu area. Improvement efforts are carried out in phases, with careful monitoring to ensure that all repair works are conducted with integrity, according to the priority of the damage level and within the stipulated defect liability period.
For houses in Kampung Lugu Phase 2 that were completed in 2024, a total of 627 complaints had been received by July 29, 2025. Out of that number, 402 housing units have been fully repaired and certified by the Housing Development Department, while 225 housing units are still in the process of being repaired or further evaluated.

According to the report received, no major damages have been found. The types of house damages received through complaints from homeowners are as follows:
- Uneven paint finishes
- Doors cannot close properly
- Roof leak
- Hollow tile
- Miscellaneous:
- Loose accessories (door knob, sanitary, window lock)
- Rusty staircase railing
- Minor chips at tile edges or corner
- Hairline cracks on walls and ceilings
- Minor scratches or stains on electrical switch
- Low water pressure at some taps
For complaints of house damages received, the Housing Development Department will carry out repair works according to the queue of complaints based on the priority of the type of damage during the defect liability period. For any damages found after the end of that period, the repair works are the responsibility of the homeowner themselves.
The Ministry of Development continuously conducts ongoing monitoring, while repair works are carried out as best as possible to ensure that the quality of housing provided is comfortable, safe, and meets the needs and expectations of the people.
