Can these landowners receive replacement land elsewhere?

In answering this question, the Ministry of Development through the Land Department has taken note of this issue, and continuously strives to address the challenges faced by private landowners affected by physical or technical factors such as high-voltage cable routes, main pipelines, road reserves and the like, which may affect the development potential of their land.

In general, for cases such as these where it is proven that the land cannot be fully utilised, the landowner may submit a formal application to the Land Department for further consideration, subject to certain conditions and involving the Wayleave Agreement process and land resumption/land compensation payment.
