YANG BERHORMAT AWANG HAJI DAUD BIN JIHAN

QUESTION:

YANG BERHORMAT AWANG HAJI DAUD BIN JIHAN asks the MINISTER OF DEVELOPMENT to state what plans the Ministry has to assist landowners with private land that cannot be developed due to high voltage cable pathways and so on? Can these landowners get land replacements elsewhere?

YANG BERHORMAT MENTERI PEMBANGUNAN

ANSWER:

Thank you, Yang Berhormat Yang Di-Pertua. Thank you also to Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Daud bin Jihan for raising the issue regarding private land that cannot be developed due to high voltage cable pathways and so on.

In response to this question, the Ministry of Development through the Land Department has taken note of this issue and continuously strives to address the challenges faced by private landowners affected by physical or technical factors such as high voltage cable pathways, main pipelines, road reserves, and so on, which may affect the development potential of their land.

Generally, for cases like these, and if it is proven that the land cannot be fully utilized, landowners can submit an official application to the Land Department for further consideration, subject to certain conditions and involving the process of Wayleave Agreement and land acquisition/land compensation payment.

Yang Berhormat Yang Di-Pertua. That is all the response Kaola can provide in answering the question from Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Daud bin Jihan. Thank you.
