YANG BERHORMAT AWANG HAJI MOHD. SALLEH BIN HAJI OTHMAN meminta MENTERI PEMBANGUNAN menyatakan sasaran, keutamaan dan pelan tindakan yang telah ditetapkan oleh kerajaan dalam menangani impak perubahan iklim, serta bagaimanakah keberkesanan langkah-langkah tersebut akan diukur menjelang Wawasan Brunei 2035?

Dalam menangani impak perubahan iklim, pendekatan Kementerian Pembangunan adalah memberi tumpuan kepada usaha adaptasi dan daya tahan infrastruktur, selaras dengan peranan kementerian dalam perancangan guna tanah, pembangunan infrastruktur dan pengurusan alam sekitar.

Antara keutamaan yang telah ditetapkan ialah memperkukuhkan sistem saliran dan tebatan banjir, meningkatkan daya tahan infrastruktur awam terhadap kejadian cuaca ekstrem, kecekapan penggunaan dan perlindungan sumber, menggalakkan pembangunan yang lebih mampan, penggunaan teknologi moden, memperluaskan ruang hijau serta memperkukuhkan pengurusan sisa pepejal melalui pelaksanaan program 3R dan pembangunan kemudahan Waste-to-Energy (WtE).

Keberkesanan pelaksanaan langkah-langkah ini akan diukur melalui petunjuk prestasi yang ditetapkan dalam pelan strategik kementerian dan jabatan-jabatan di bawahnya.
