Yang Berhormat Menteri Pengangkutan dan Infokomunikasi
Thank you Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Salleh Bostaman bin Haji Zainal Abidin for the question regarding the open sharing of the Land Transport Master Plan.
It is pleased to be informed that the existing Land Transport Master Plan (LTMP) remains valid and may be obtained through the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications website via the link https://www.mtic.gov.bn/sitepages/digital-library.aspx.
Although in general, the strategic objectives and general proposals of the document remain relevant, this Ministry has reviewed and updated the Action Framework as the basis for projects and initiatives in the following six (6) areas:
- Enhancing connectivity;
- Improving reliability;
- Investing in infrastructure;
- Leveraging technology;
- Reforming the industry structure; and
- Strengthening public transport governance.
For Yang Berhormat's information, the existing Steering Committee on Improving the Public Transport System consists of Permanent Secretaries from the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as the Attorney General's Chambers.
The said Steering Committee functions as the main platform to discuss strategic direction, identify action priorities, and ensure coordination among relevant agencies. Through this platform, the planning and development process of the Land Transport Master Plan (LTMP) is carried out in a transparent and inclusive manner.
