Within these programmes, students are exposed to the real-world environment of agriculture and agro-food through practical learning at the institution as well as through a six (6) month work placement programme. This exposure provides them with authentic learning so that they are more resilient as required in this field. The practice of managing their own farms is also embedded in this programme in order to instil the qualities of a farmer, even during semester breaks. In addition, they are also exposed to entrepreneurship modules as preparation and to train their skills in running their own businesses.

Based on data from the Graduate Employment Study conducted annually by IBTE, the employability rate (Employment Rate) of graduates from agriculture and agro-food programmes at IBTE, six months after the convocation ceremony, averages 50%.

Meanwhile, the relevancy rate (Relevancy Rate) of graduates from agriculture and agro-food programmes at IBTE, which reflects the level of relevance between employment and the programme of study undertaken at IBTE, averages 43% in 2025.

IBTE will continue to monitor the effectiveness of all its programmes, including agriculture and agro-food programmes.
