ANSWER
Yang Berhormat Menteri Pembangunan
Specifically, the allocation for the Management of the Construction Industry is intended for the annual allocation provided for the payment of salaries of officers and staff, as well as the operations of the Building Control Authority and Construction Industry Division.
As an initiative to enhance knowledge and understanding related to business in the construction industry, the ministry, through ABCi, also provides an allocation for an incentive scheme for contractor or builder companies through capacity-building under the "Contractor Development Program", which began in 2025, with 40 companies having completed the programme. This programme will be continued, with an allocation of $50,000 provided.
In addition to capacity building, ABCi also implements initiatives such as outreach promotions and exhibitions to broaden the sharing of knowledge and the latest information regarding the construction industry.
For information, to date, there are 1,667 Contractor/Builder companies registered with ABCi. This demonstrates the inclination of the people and residents of Negara Brunei Darussalam towards the construction industry and their active involvement in managing projects related to construction.
