YANG BERHORMAT PEHIN ORANG KAYA JOHAN PAHLAWAN DATO SERI SETIA AWANG HAJI ADANAN BIN BEGAWAN PEHIN SIRAJA KHATIB DATO SERI SETIA HAJI MD. YUSOF requested the MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS to state the specific approach of applying the Feature Analysis Model to existing programmes in addressing the challenges of ensuring that KUPU SB graduates are more marketable in various fields of employment and entrepreneurship, including producing technopreneurs to meet industry needs and align with the transformation towards being highly skilled in digital technology.

ANSWER

Yang Berhormat Menteri Hal Ehwal Ugama

The approaches implemented by KUPU SB to ensure that KUPU SB graduates are more marketable in various fields of employment are as follows:

  1. Assessing the quality of the courses currently offered to ensure that they are suitable for the actual needs of the job market, namely: i. Compulsory entrepreneurship courses in Islamic Education and Educational Technology courses; ii. Minor Programme in Entrepreneurship and Minor Programme in Innovation and Islamic Education Technology.

  2. Planning and designing a Minor curriculum in the field of entrepreneurship that is more general and broader than the scope currently being offered. Likewise, the Technology Course will be supplemented with technology that is more oriented towards entrepreneurship.

  3. Planning to offer additional programmes or courses related to community leadership, or to replace the Minor Programme in Da’wah and Leadership, while retaining KUPU SB’s niche in the field of religious teaching.

  4. Conducting a Needs Analysis in the fields of entrepreneurship, technology and community leadership, with reference to the needs of industry, the community and the public/private sectors, as well as through discussions with field experts, alumni and employers.

  5. Conducting studies on the employability of KUPU SB graduates and employment trends.

  6. Formulating Programme Learning Outcomes in terms of knowledge, understanding, practical/technological skills, critical thinking and innovation, as well as social responsibility, which are also expected to reflect suitable career paths.

  7. Aligning with the Brunei Darussalam Qualification Framework (BDQF).
