ANSWER
Yang Berhormat Menteri Sumber-Sumber Utama dan Pelancongan
Through its strategy to strengthen the primary resources and tourism industry ecosystem, the Ministry remains committed to diversifying the national economy. The organisation of Ekspo Sumber-Sumber Utama dan Pelancongan demonstrates the effectiveness of the initiative in generating a significant spin-off effect.
In 2025, Ekspo Sumber-Sumber Utama dan Pelancongan, which also incorporated the Fourth Ekspo Produk Tempatan, recorded total sales of approximately $198,000, with encouraging participation from local entrepreneurs, namely 137 entrepreneurs over a period of three (3) days. This achievement reflects the increasing competitiveness of local products.
This expo also serves as a platform to showcase products and services produced by local entrepreneurs, including those from Majlis Perwakilan Kampung (MPK), across 13 categories or clusters comprising agriculture and agri-food; business, banking and finance; construction and interior design; fashion and clothing; fisheries and fish processing; food and beverages; tourism and hospitality; information and communication technology and creative products; timber products; and others, including 1 Kampong 1 Produk (1K1P) products under the Majlis Perundingan Kampong (MPK), Ministry of Home Affairs.
Over the four years since its introduction in 2022, the expo has demonstrated its economic impact by generating cumulative revenue of more than $1 million Brunei dollars from approximately 78,000 visitors. This initiative is not merely an annual event, but also acts as an economic catalyst that generates a significant spin-off effect.
The Ministry will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic products to ensure that the primary resources and tourism sectors remain significant sectors in the national economic diversification agenda, in line with the ongoing and sustainable national development targets.
