YANG BERHORMAT AWANG HAJI SALLEH BOSTAMAN BIN HAJI ZAINAL ABIDIN asked MENTERI HAL EHWAL DALAM NEGERI to state the extent to which data on the expiry of foreign work permits is coordinated with data from Pusat Pekerjaan Brunei and the Majlis Perancangan Tenaga Manusia dan Pekerjaan (MPTMP) to facilitate proactive training planning through platforms such as SkillPlus.

It is pleased to be explained that workforce-related data obtained through the Employer and Worker Census conducted by the Labour Department and collected through the Online Business Reporting (OBR) system has been utilised by the Human Resources Planning Office (PPTM) for workforce analysis and planning purposes.

Among other things, this data is used to identify current workforce requirements and monitor the composition of the local and foreign workforce in the relevant sectors in support of national policy planning related to job localisation (localisation). It is also used to plan training interventions through various platforms such as SkillPlus, Spin, Trade Skills and others.
