YANG BERHORMAT MINISTER AT THE PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE AND MINISTER OF DEFENCE II
ANSWER:
Kaola would first like to express gratitude to Yang Berhormat for the question, which touches on plans to upgrade RTB branch stations to enhance the quality of Broadcasting services.
For the information of all Your Honourable Members, all Radio Television Brunei (RTB) stations in all districts play an important role in providing a quality broadcasting platform to the local community and the nation in general. To ensure more efficient services, various initiatives have and will continue to be implemented to strengthen technical aspects, broadcasting content, as well as community involvement. Several improvements are being made to ensure every RTB branch station, including in Tutong District, remains relevant and capable of meeting the needs of district residents and viewers.
Currently, the RTB Department prioritizes the enhancement of broadcasting quality & coverage in terms of broadcasting infrastructure, to ensure broader and higher quality coverage, as follows:
- Upgrading the T-2 Bang Dalam transmitter for digital TV and radio broadcasting, which allows coverage to be expanded to interior areas, including Tutong District.
- Improving radio broadcasting quality by strengthening the FM transmitter capabilities in strategic areas, to ensure more stable and high-quality signal reception.
Once RTB's broadcasting infrastructure is enhanced, particularly in terms of quality and coverage, RTB Department's further and immediate action is to upgrade other infrastructures, such as RTB stations in district branches, including the Tutong District branch.
In conclusion, the RTB Department will continue to strengthen broadcasting services with strategic and innovative approaches in all four districts. RTB Department will remain the primary platform for delivering quality information and entertaining the community, aligned with its vision and mission to support the country's development and disseminate the policies and agendas of the Government of Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan in ensuring the well-being, harmony, and security of the citizens and residents of Negara Brunei Darussalam.
